This on-line course was developed to provide your employees with a working knowledge
of copyright law so you can protect your own content as well as content you receive
from others. It is also an excellent tool for industry representative writers and
developers of your Standards, who can take the course as a prerequisite to developing
Standards.

This informative and engaging course teaches basic concepts and outlines the limited
use of copyrighted materials, using real-world examples of actual cases of infringement.
Once your users take the course and achieve a passing grade on the test, they will:
- Understand the general concept of a copyright;
- Recognize what types of works are protected by copyright law;
- Understand what can and cannot be done with copyrighted materials;
- Understand the narrow limits of “fair use” of copyrighted material;
- Recognize examples of copyright infringement, and
- Understand the ramifications of copyright infringement.
